Peter proudly exhibits the Pharmaworks and ProMach logos as he speeds around the track
Did you know that Pharmaworks co-founder Peter Buczynsky is an avid race car driver?
In honor of the Indianapolis 500 next week, we sat down with Peter to discuss his racing career.
Peter, what is the name of the racing league/circuit you participate in?
PB: I have competition licenses for/race in multiple leagues (SCCA, NASA, FARA).
With your busy role at Pharmaworks, what is your racing schedule?
PB: I don’t have time to race every weekend, so I sign up for events that I can take part in. Because I’m not fulltime, I’m not accumulating points for the season currently.
What car(s) do you race?
PB: I have a Radical SR5 and a Praga R1, both prototypes. Sometimes I take my supercharged Audi R8 Competition on the track when I really feel the need for speed.
How did you get into driving?
PB: Some years ago I would attend motorcycle track events, spending 2-3 days at a time on a track in North Florida. That was how I achieved an enjoyable work/life balance. Unfortunately I suffered a concussion after wiping out, and I was forced to lay in bed for a couple of weeks. I realized that the enjoyment and life balance that I derived from the racetrack would need to be accomplished in a different way.
Can you describe the team you work with?
PB: Fellner Motorsport in Palm Beach FL is made up of highly talented support technicians that are truly wizards at troubleshooting, supporting and modifying high performance vehicles.
In the recent past, in the picture shown, you got into the winner’s circle. Was that your most successful race?
PB: I only started real racing this year and have been fortunate to place in nearly each race. Yes, Miami Homestead was my first 2 hour endurance race, and I was surprised to have made the podium. I’m still learning to push myself/the cars faster in the turns and hoping one day to have a lot more ponies under the hood when I get my turbo.
Does ProMach/Pharmaworks sponsor your car? If not, why did you put their logos on it?
PB: I am very proud of those logos and am honored to bring attention to them. I love the relevant branding of both ProMach’s tagline “Performance, Packaged” and Pharmaworks’ old slogan “Setting the Pace of Innovation” as they fit nicely for racing as well. I’m not sponsored by either company, I just display those logos out of personal pride.
Thanks so much for the discussion, Peter! And we wish you safety and success in the future!
PB: Thanks a lot!
