How fast can a pharmaceutical packaging line go? We know many manufacturers and contract packers that want to put that question to the test! That’s why NJM has brought the top-of-the-line HSL family, Dara’s fastest filling and closing machines, to the United States and Canada.
Take, for example, the Dara HSL-PP/4 aseptic filling and closing machine for vials. On display at Healthcare Packaging Expo Booth #W-703 in October, this fully servo-driven solution runs up to 200 vials per minute using four heads at each station. Ideal for high-capacity, high-changeover lines, it offers 100 percent in-process weight control, low maintenance and simple changeovers.
The Dara HSL-PP/4 can be custom tailored to suit the needs of each biopharmaceutical customer. Capable of handling both liquids and powders, it can be programmed to fill glass or plastic vials in a variety of ways and with different stopper and cap applications. Options are available for sterile environments and cleanrooms.
Dara can equip the HSL-PP/4 with stainless steel or ceramic rotary piston pumps to achieve +/- 0.5 percent accuracy or with peristaltic pumps to achieve +/- 1 percent accuracy. No bottle / no fill / no stopper safety sensors limit errors. Eight checkweighing cells detect fill levels, while inspection systems identify missing and raised stoppers. The vacuum starwheel reject device ensures out-of-tolerance vials are rejected without reducing the line speed or removing good product.
The whole HSL family includes solutions that fill vials and/or syringes, as well as ready-to-use containers, ophthalmic bottles or large-format parenterals. The fastest system is the HSL-PP/8, which runs up to 400 packages per minute with eight heads at each station.
