Pharmaworks, the newest addition to the ProMach Pharma Solutions family, has seen the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) due to COVID-19 and is helping to solve the problem. Thanks to the donation of supplies, the innovation of our engineers and the utilization of existing packaging technology, we have been working around the clock to create much-needed face shields for essential workers across the United States.
Developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals, the face shields meet the needs of hospitals and are test lab-verified for compliance. The simple design requires no secondary assembly process – recipients simply snap the replaceable front shield onto the rigid frame, which can be cleaned and reused.
In addition to making face shields here in house, we can ship die and hole punches to customers who already own Pharmaworks blister machines or systems we’ve upgraded, so they can produce face shields in their own facilities. We’ve also made our design available to the open-source community so others can create more face shields.
The Pharmaworks team, volunteering their time, has been working tirelessly to make and ship as many of these face shields as possible, including coordinating multiple shifts and working weekends. We have donated over 13,000 shields to date, and thousands more are being made each day with the help of injection molding.
This is truly a collaborative industry-wide effort, with material suppliers and customers donating the hard to find material used for the clear shields. Pharmaworks die cuts the shields, shipping them all around the country to support the open-source maker community that have fabricated over 5.75 million units worth of medical supplies across the globe since this pandemic began.
